Who are we ?
Friendship Miles is a non-profit organization based in Grand Rapids, Michigan with an emphasis on slowing down our running community to amplify bigger systemic issues some folks face. We encourage running together at a conversational pace to focus on connection and friendship. The image of running and walking communities excludes many folks who want to participate in free social movement, but feel as if they don’t belong. 'Friendship Miles' was born to recreate that image and encourage others who may not feel comfortable to to do so with confidence. Friendship Miles mission serves as a way to spark inspiration, educate, and empower so we can redefine running. Friendship Miles echos inclusivity, connection, and empathy. You don't have to run to be involved, whether you run or walk every mile tells a story.
Your donation will go directly towards funding campaigns like, Until Every Runner Belongs, providing resources to our greater community in need such as: child care at running events, interpreters for our deaf runners, guides for our blind runners, mental health and therapy resources, financial wellness resources, race entries, coaching, giveaways, gear, and free education around nutrition, strength training, and physical therapy.
We want to break those barriers down to continue to make this space free and safe for all levels, backgrounds and abilities at all walks of life. Thank you for your contribution to make our community stronger, healthier, and more inclusive together! More Info can be found at friendshipmiles.com or follow us on Instagram for more!
